Some of you are investigating the nature of fabrication and digital processes in their thesis work. Please remember to keep a focus on the architecture as opposed to the process. Though they are not mutually exclusive, it is important to keep in mind that the intention is to refrain from scope creep. If the topic is better addressed by someone other than an architect (i.e. a computer science major, an industrial engineer, a material scientist, etc.) then you should reassess your position on the architectural issue.
Keep in mind there are some great free and current papers available through the ACADIA site and if you really need access to Cumincad references, please ask the studio instructors. For example, you can snag Phillip Anzalone's paper, "Non Uniform Assemblage: Mass Customization in Digital Fabrication" (with student work).
If you wish to look for more mainstream but leading architectural projects, you may wish to also browse through the AIA's Architect Magazine Technology section that also has relevant material to look into. After all, at this point in time you all should be going beyond "researching" and moving well into "designing" - this is a good point of departure for many of you.
